Grenache

Grenache (aka Garnacha) produces rich, flavorful red wines and deep, ruby-tinted rosé. The French have championed this grape in the Southern Rhône Valley but it’s original home is Spain! Grenache has also become wildly popular in California as an inexpensive alternative to pinot noir, as it possesses similar characteristics. Blood orange, strawberries, plum and dried herbs are all commonly observed elements of grenache's flavor profile. The intense flavors of grenache pair well with roast meats or spiced Asian foods.
